Today, we awoke to the news that Papua New Guinea’s founding father Sir Michael Somare, had died at the age of 84.
This photo was taken in 2017 at the Madang Resort Hotel. It was a quick photo but it was the only time i had come close to this great man. Sir Michael died in the early hours of this morning in Port Moresby after being diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer and admitted to hospital a week ago. He led PNG to become an indepedent nation in 1975.
This country has lost a great leader among its people.
