Who we are and what we are about
Lopoki Inc is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation that works in the areas of community development in Papua New Guinea.
Lopoki Incorporated was created to assist the men, women and children of Papua New Guinea build a life that is free from pain, hardship, stress, hunger and isolation. It is a non-political and non-religious organisation that seeks to help Papua New Guineans who want to help themselves.
Lopoki Inc. is currently based in Liap/Derimbat village(s) in the Kurti language group area of the Pomutu Ndrehet Kurti Andra (PNKA) Local Level Government area of Manus Province.
The organisation was incorporated on June 1, 2021 and is a registered entity with the Papua New Guinea Investment Promotion Authority (registration number 5-109498).
What are its objectives?
The objectives of the Lopoki Inc. are broad but are as follows:
-To encourage community participation in positive life style change and good mental health.
-To empower vulnerable members of the community to improve their access to basic health services
-To promote nutrition, healthy living, consumption of local food and conservation of land
-To build community resilience on effects of climate change on land, sea and water.
-To encourage and support the work of small business, partnership and innovation in local communities
-To strengthen the role of women and girls in education, business, ICT, health and leadership.
-The Association will apply its profit (if any) or other income in promoting its objectives
-That the Association will prohibit the payment of any dividend or payment in the nature of a dividend to its members.
